Baby Shower

Tennessee was spoiled rotten by friends and family! She's one blessed little girl!

Saturday was the baby shower that my family has been preparing for since Christmas! The result was a beautiful celebration of my baby girl. As usual, there was tons of food, laughter and love.

Since David and I will be moving across the country here in a couple months, this was likely the last chance for us to see a lot of our friends and family. We are hoping to have a BBQ or something before we leave to see everyone one last time - and to introduce Tennessee to them in person!

Anyone who knows my family, knows we aren't exactly the most cooperative people when it comes to participating in activities. Which meant Leesh and Sarah had their work cut out for them with the shower games. I think they came up with some awesome choices! My favorites were drawing a baby on a paper plate - while the plate was on top of their heads, and the card where everyone wrote down virtues that they would give Tennessee if they could. They were all beautiful, but my favorites were:

"A mean right hook for all the guys Auntie Leesh can't scare away!" - Leesh
"Always surrounded by the love of this family." - Aunt Linda
"Just call Grandma and it will be okay." - Momma

I plan to keep them and maybe give to Tennessee at graduation or some other momentous occasion in her life.

I don't think I could ever pick a favorite gift, but one of the sweetest was the box of items my Daddy picked out. There really is nothing like the bond between a father and his daughter. Something David will soon figure out - not that he isn't already wrapped around her tiny finger!

Homeward Bound

Looks like it's time for this pregnant lady to cool it for a while. At my 35 weeks appt yesterday morning my doctor decided it's best I spend more time at home with my feet up - not that I'm complaining! This has been a difficult pregnancy in a lot of ways, but all that matters is little miss Tennessee is healthy. And she is!

The above photo is from the 3D ultrasound session we had yesterday morning. We were a little apprehensive at first because 3D sessions are best done a little earlier on in the pregnancy, but baby girl was very cooperative and we got some great shots. The technician said it helps that I have tons of fluid surrounding her in my uterus. I guess that's one good thing about gaining all this fluid weight!

She's pretty squished in my belly at the moment, but we were able to see her yawn, and suck on her arm and fingers. As you can see, baby girl has some seriously chubby cheeks and full lips. She also has her Momma's feet and toes:

Bottom line: Easily the best $150 I've spent in a long time - maybe ever. Can't wait to hold her!
